ABOUT OUR COFFEE
All of our beans are certified organic arabica. We source them from the great coffee-growing regions around the world, seeking out big flavor and bold character in the beans we choose. We started roasting coffee in a small café in 1979. Over the years we've developed a unique style of slow-roasting our coffee in small batches, which caramelizes the beans and brings out the semi-sweet, chocolate flavors.
We care about quality, and about the environment, so we made a big decision and in 2018 we became the first coffee roaster in the Nation to roast with 100% renewable biogas.
In addition, this coffee is also grown under natural shade in a habitat that is healthy for people, animals, plants, and the soil.
For us, fair trade means we work on long-term relationships with our growers, rather than a third-party. This way we are assured our farmers are getting the net-most money for their hard work and exceptional organic coffee. We stick with them through their difficult times in all kinds of weather, as all friends would do. In this way we support the fair trade principles.
Our QA Grader regularly cups our green beans and tastes our roasted beans in our Coffee Lab.
